  GAME REVIEW SERVICE

The purpose of our Game Review Service is to provide developers with a way to have their "in-development" games evaluated objectively, tested for issues with play-balance, as well as played to pinpoint any other gameplay concerns that occur during the gameplay experience. Simply put, CMI plays your game for and provides feedback on playability and game balance. Our goal is to function as an objective team member, helping your game become the best as it can possibly be as well as make it fun for both hardcore fans and the casual gamer, thus expanding your target market.

By having your game "reviewed" by us before it is final, you receive specific suggestions for improvement on story, art, sound, and other components of the game. CMI provides a scored review card including the reasoning behind our suggestions, so you, the developer, have a full understanding of why you are receiving those actionable suggestions.

CMI's Game Review Service is very flexible, based upon your specific needs. We have provided this service to hundreds of games, from cell phone games to PC games. The typical review service ideally includes four separate reviews at periodic intervals during your project's development. This is done to ensure that you are allowed enough time to act on our suggestions and feedback. Additionally, as the developer of your product, whether you act upon those suggestions is totally up to you.

This service allows your team direct feedback on your title from a fresh perspective, amplifying the effectiveness of your team at an affordable price.

CMI uses a veteran team of testers and designers to play-test your game and offer an unbiased, fair assessment for your game. We are motivated to make every game a fun experience for the player, and our comments reflect this desire to improve the existing product. CMI brings new testers into the game so that each assessment is fresh and can reflect the opinions of a “new customer.”

Finally, these reviews can also be completely private, in that CMI will never even mention that our teams have worked together, if you wish.

CELL PHONE GAME REVIEW SERVICE

One specific area that has been very popular is our Cell Phone Game Review Service. CMI's Cell Phone Game Review Service has produced its fair share of award-winning games, up to and including Game of the Year. Click here for a look at one of our Game of the Year winners.

One game we performed our Cell Phone Game Review Service on before its release is “Predator” by Indiagames. CMI is particularly proud of that involvement. Here is the final game review of Predator on IGN.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Billy and his team on many projects. All I have to say is he is very good at his work and always delivers on time! Billy is your man... if you want to have the "extra glitter" on your games.
– Vishal Gondal of Indiagames

Here's a clip from the IGN Wireless review of Predator: "The designer's attention to detail is also key to the game's success, as this is an established franchise with lots of "Predator"-specific things that fans will demand. From the plasma cannon to stealth to skull- collecting, Predator is the go-go human-hunting experience you've been looking for." For the full review, click here.

Here's a clip from the IGN Wireless review of Buffy: "Fans of the television series will get the most mileage out of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Honestly, I did not follow the show, so some of the minor details were lost on me, but checking fan sites -- and yeesh, there are a lot of them -- confirmed Indiagames' near religious adherence to the source material. While not as good as some of their previous actioners, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a respectable way for fans to keep the flame alive and proves that Indiagames should always be a contender for film and television companies looking to leverage their content in the mobile space." “Critical Mass Interactive provided us with the CRITICAL information we needed to make The Dozens™ into the ground breaking multiplayer mobile game it is. I only wish I had this sort of pre-release review resource during the 25 years I designed and produced computer and video games. I’m sure it would have improved the products I worked on at Activision, Lightspan, and Avalon Hill.”
– William Volk, CEO of Bonus Mobile Entertainment

"CMI exceeded our high expectations. Review of our Cannon’s Quest was complete, very timely, and above all we found their suggestions helpful in making the application more alive and fun. We look forward to CMI being an ongoing part of our quest to bring more fun and bigger challenges to the world of cell phones."
– Lanny Ross, President WIMOS, Inc.

Working with CMI is a pleasure. As we venture into the new territory of location-based games, it’s great that we can rely on Billy’s expertise and insight.”
– James Robarts, Director of Dreams, Glofun™ Games

"Critical Mass Interactive's wireless reviews have been very helpful to us and they have definitely put in a lot of extra effort and advice to make sure the game succeeds. As this is our first game, they have been coaching us on making sure we understand the gaming business to ensure we end up with a finished, shippable *product*, not just a finished binary. The game plays so much better, and we've gotten lots of positive feedback from whomever we show it to."
